Woman Makes Sexual Misconduct Claim Against Elon Musk

Imahe
Elon Musk’s SpaceX, an aerospace company that he created, reportedly paid a woman $250,000 to settle a sexual misconduct claim against him stemming from an alleged incident several years ago. Business Insider reported that a flight attendant who worked as a contractor for SpaceX’s corporate jet fleet accused Musk of exposing himself to her, touching her, and offering to buy her a horse in exchange for an erotic massage. Musk said that there was “a lot more to this story” and that if he “were inclined to engage in sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it comes to light.” Musk said that the story was a “politically motivated hit piece.” Musk has warned repeatedly on Twitter in recent days that “political attacks on me will escalate dramatically in coming months” in response to him buying Twitter. “Watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold,” Musk added. The flight attendant told her friend that Musk, who is the wealthie...

Mr Depp is suing Ms Heard for $50m for allegedly implying he abused her in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post , claiming the article has impacted his ability to land the kinds of Hollywood roles he was once offered. On Thursday (19 May), before court proceedings began for the day, Depp greeted his cheering supporters outside the courtroom and commented that he had made “breakfast for all of them”. “Waffles,” Mr Depp quipped, when he was asked what he had prepared. Fans have pointed out the actor was joking, indicating Depp made the light-hearted comment when asked about the excited crowd outside the courthouse. Donald Rumsfeld said it best

“… as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.” Whatever unknowns loom over the market today, Robert (Hap) Sneddon of CastleMoore Inc. says the ill omens exist alongside promising signs such as ongoing commodity demand. “It’s a bit of a bifurcated market. You know, dark for some parts, but others are looking OK,” he tells Investor’s Digest in a telephone interview. “Earnings have not fallen off a cliff.” Mr. Sneddon is president, founder and chief portfolio manager of CastleMoore Inc. in the Greater Toronto Area. He is also a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, previously served as president of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts, and is a chartered investment manager. Why Elon Musk Might Not Actually Be Able to Buy Twitter | Vanity Fair

Imahe
There have been a lot of questions swirling since Elon Musk announced plans to buy out Twitter, such as how the “free speech” evangelist would approach content moderation, the business model, user experience, and, of course, whether he’d let Donald Trump back on the platform. Certainly looks like it ! Or as my Vanity Fair colleagues recently put it : “Will Elon Musk save Twitter or burn it to the ground?” But before we get ahead of ourselves, here’s another very pertinent question: Will he even be able to buy Twitter? As Musk continues his fundraising drive to complete his $44 billion Twitter takeover , ongoing market volatility could lead the world’s wealthiest man to renegotiate the deal. Last month Twitter’s board of directors agreed to sell the company to Musk outright for $54.20 a share, with the Tesla CEO selling $8.5 billion worth of shares in the electric-car company for funding. He also received a commitment from Morgan Stanley and other financial institutions for $12.5 b...

Twitter FIRES head of consumer product while he is on paternity leave and implements hiring freeze  | Daily Mail Online

Imahe
Twitter has fired two high-ranking members of staff as Elon Musk cracks the whip following his $44billion takeover of the social media giant. Head of consumer product Kayvon Beykpour and general manager for revenue Bruce Falck were unceremoniously axed after the billionaire’s buyout last month. Beykpour, who founded Periscope, admitted on his account he had not wanted to go but was brutally ousted by CEO Parag Agrawal while he was on paternity leave so they could ‘take the team in a new direction’. A leaked memo from the under fire Twitter chief to staff noted how the tech giant needed the 'right leaders at the right time’. He announced interim GM of consumer product Jay Sullivan will take over both their jobs in a new merged role. It comes as the social media firm launches a tsunami of cuts by stamping down on contractor spending, travel and events, marketing and real estate. Agrawal also revealed all hiring would be frozen as the company goes through a rocky transition per...

Imahe
Johnny Depp ’s legal team grilled Amber Heard over photos of her looking fresh-faced during public appearances after allegedly being beat up by Depp.  The court was shown a clip of Amber Heard appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden in December 2015 with no visible marks or bruises on her face.   Heard had previously testified that the night before the appearance she thought she was going to die when Depp allegedly headbutted her and tried to suffocate her with a pillow. She claimed she had two black eyes, what she thought was a broken nose and a busted lip from Depp allegedly punching her. Heard told the court that her make-up team had to work around the wounds and apply ‘super heavy, red matte lipstick’ to hide her bloodied lip for her appearance on the James Corden show.   She said in her testimony : 'I got worried that I wouldn’t be able to hide the bruising and swelling. I iced it all night and the next day checked in the mirror to see...
