Joe Dorgan’s phone doesn’t stop ringing these days, as people around the world hear about his company’s cattle feed made from seaweed and its potential to reduce methane emissions. Dorgan says the United Nations climate change summit has sparked renewed media interest, including a news crew from the U.S. that visited the plant in Seacow Pond, P.E.I., in October.  There is also new interest closer to home. An Austin, Texas, convenience store owner said he’s urging voters to pass a pro-police initiative after the city’s police department refused to send officers to help stop a shoplifter trying to attack him in his shop, even though “you can hear him yelling at me while I’m on the phone.” The Austin Police Department issued a policy on Oct. 1, in part to help alleviate its staffing challenges, that would reroute callers away from 911 if it didn’t consider the incident an emergency. HCM City is all set to begin vaccinating children aged 12 to 17. – VNA Photo HCM CITY – The HCM City steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control has announced vaccination plans for people aged 12 to 17, starting with the oldest demographic and moving down age groups. There are around 780,000 children in the age groups, according to the committee. Students will be vaccinated in their schools or safe sites chosen by their schools, while those who do not attend schools will be given their shots at sites around the city. Children with underlying health conditions will get them at paediatric hospitals and general hospitals with paediatric departments. Those already in hospitals will be vaccinated even if they are from other provinces and cities. The city is waiting for instructions from the Ministry of Health to begin the campaign. She is just one of many office staff in big cities like Hà Nội and HCM City who want to continue remote working when social distancing comes to an end.
